2019 RAM 1500 Debuts at Detroit Auto Show

The first quarter of every calendar years means one thing car lovers, auto show season. One of the premier auto shows in North America is the Detroit Auto Show and this year’s did not disappoint when it comes to RAM trucks. The RAM brand introduced the 2019 RAM 1500, a fully re-designed light-duty pickup truck. Pinckney Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM is here to give you the inside scoop of this new truck.

The new RAM truck has added strength, making it the strongest RAM 1500 ever, while also making the body lighter. RAM eliminated 225 lbs from it’s most popular 4x4 crew cab version. A 3.7-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8 remain the two engine options, each with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This new RAM truck has a maximum payload of 2.300 lbs and a maximum towing capacity of 12,750 lbs. The 2019 RAM 1500 will have the most interior space, legroom and storage space of any half-ton pickup trucks, according to the head of the RAM truck brand.

To improve upon fuel economy, RAM added an eTorque, a hybrid system that shuts down the vehicle when it coasts to a stop while providing torque upon initial acceleration. Other new features include a 12-inch touchscreen available in the higher trim levels and a 8.4-inch screen in the standard model. Cameras provide a 360-degreen bird’seye perspective of the truck’s surroundings. Standard safety features include blind-spot alert and and rear cross-path alert. Optional safety tech includes forward collision alerts, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.
